Fabric shower curtains are ready-made decorating fabric

If you hate to sew then fabric shower curtains may be the best idea since sliced bread. Think about how curtain fabrics require at least hemming to give a finished treatment, and then imagine some of these beautiful patterns coming already hemmed and ready to fashion into creative window treatments. That is what you will get with fabric shower curtains.

Curtain Fabrics for Bathrooms

Bathroom curtain fabrics are not only made with prints that shout: “this is a bathroom.” Today’s bathroom shower curtains are as elegant as anything you might find in a bedroom, dining room or even the living room. As many bathrooms are an extension of the bedroom, the bedroom décor often flows right into the master bath. These elegant fabrics are suitable for both.

If you find a curtain fabric that has all of design features you want, then why not buy extra and carry that into the bedroom’s window treatments or even incorporate those into throw pillows for the bed or duvet covers.

The No-Sew Method

By welding curtain fabrics using different fabric shower curtains, you can avoid sewing altogether. Here are some ideas for creating no-sew accessories with fabric shower curtains:

  1. Drape curtain over a decorate iron rod and let it pool onto the floor on one side.
  2. Hot glue Velcro strips to a cornice board made of foam core and then to the curtain material. These can then be taken apart and easily cleaned or changed out for the seasons.
  3. Use the curtain with shower rings on a pressure rod to replace a closet door and add more soft fabric features to the room.
  4. Cut the fabric into strips and hot glue the pieces to create a decorative border to a natural fiber woven area rug.
  5. Cut out features from the curtain fabrics such as flowers or a repetitive geometric pattern and decoupage it to an old table top, picture frame or lamp base.
