A
curtain wall has many useful and decorative applications.
But if you are not careful, it can be overwhelming to the
room’s
overall design. Some tips on when, where and how to hang
a curtain wall will help ensure that the window doorwall
coverings of any fabric compliment the rest of the rooms
soft furnishings and enhance the look you’re going
after.
Curtain wall tips
You
may ask yourself, “just where should I use a
curtain wall?” The answer is simple: anywhere you
want to create colour and softness or hide something
unsightly. Some examples may be in a rented home or apartment.
You may not be at liberty to paint the walls, but want
to add a dramatic splash of colour. The draperies only
go so far in that department, but a curtain wall goes
one step further. Here you can hang a rod or track from
the ceiling, close to the wall and hang any type of heavy
fabric.
If
you want to close of a space, curtain walls are an ideal
solution. Just hang your ceiling hardware a little further
into the room and you’ve just cordoned
off a space. This could be a dressing or storage
area in a small apartment.
In larger homes where, one that you own and are free to
decorate however you please, a curtain wall makes a dramatic
statement. You can use it in place of a headboard in the
master suite. Just hang the curtain wall and push the bed
against it for a beautiful backdrop for decorative throw
pillows. Then fashion the rest of the window coverings
in the room to coordinate with both.
A curtain wall can be used as a doorway covering as well.
It is a great way to hide an unsightly doorway view or
block off excessive wooden doors in a room with too many
entrances and closet doors. Some covered with window doorwall
coverings disguise the doorways in a creative way. A wall
with a full bank of doors can be covered symmetrically
where one door is hidden by a curtain the next not, the
one next to that covered and so forth. There really is
no limit to what you can hide with a curtain wall.
