Many
people find country curtains a charming addition to the home decor.
They evoke feelings of an idyllic life, simple and optimistic. Many
people find them comforting and cheerful. While the prevailing themes
associated with country curtains are ruffles and gingham, as well as
flowers and plaid, there is nevertheless great variety in the types
of window treatments that are considered in the country style. In fact,
it is possible to find a curtain in this style for every room in the
house.
The kitchen is the room where most people see country curtains.
The most common form is actually a window topper. A window topper
is much shorter, only covering
the top of the window (hence its name).
The window topper is not held on a curtain track with the curtain.
Instead it is held on a rod or maybe a track of its own. The window
topper is stationary; it does not open or close. Some kitchens
feature a curtain that hangs on either side of the window, in addition to
the topper.
There are living rooms and bedrooms that also feature these window
treatments. Usually, the curtain in rooms like these is more
ruffled,
to give a more decorative look. These are on a curtain track to control
how open or closed the curtains are. However, it is very popular
to use the track to open the curtains slightly, and then tie them
to the sides. This creates a sort of tent-opening look that is very
attractive when used as a window covering.
Country style shower curtains
It is even possible
to find country style shower curtains for
the bathroom. These can add a unique look to the bathroom. It can
also make this room, which everyone must use multiple times a day,
one of the prettiest in the house. A country
curtain feature
a ruffled top, similar to a window topper, and often a fabric covering
with a pretty print that hangs
over the vinyl shower curtain. The
fabric can be tied back to create a window effect. This can be
especially attractive if the vinyl curtain is complementing print
or colour. It is possible to have the simple beauty of country
charm in every room of the house when you use
country curtains.
